Mini Cooper S GP Inspired Edition Launched at Rs 58.9 Lakh in India

​Mini Cooper S GP Inspired Edition has been launched in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 58.9 lakh. The company has confirmed that only 30 units of this special edition model will be available for the Indian market, making it one of the more exclusive Mini models on sale right now.

The GP Inspired Edition is based on the regular Cooper S but gets several cosmetic and feature upgrades inspired by the Mini GP performance hatch. On the outside, the car comes finished in a ‘Legend Grey’ shade with contrasting ‘Chilli Red’ accents across the body. It also gets a John Cooper Works (JCW) front bumper, special grille, red winglets, bonnet stripes and a rear diffuser for a sportier appearance.

Mini has also added ‘GP Inspired’ branding on the sides along with a ‘1 of 30’ badge on the C-pillar to highlight its limited-run status. The hatchback rides on 18-inch JCW alloy wheels and also gets a roof-mounted spoiler and updated LED lighting animations.

Inside the cabin, the GP Inspired Edition gets a black-and-red theme with JCW sport seats, a JCW steering wheel and special badging on the door sills and floor mats. The dashboard and door panels use recycled knitted fabric material, adding a fresh touch to the interior.

Feature highlights include a 9.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, panoramic glass roof, Harman Kardon sound system, head-up display, wireless charging and connected car technology. Safety features include Level 1 ADAS, stability control and a rear view camera.

Powering the car is a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 204hp and 300Nm. Paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, the car can sprint from 0-100kph in 6.6 seconds, while the claimed top speed stands at 242kph.
