Tata Motors May 2025 Sales Breakdown – Nexon, Punch, Tiago, Curvv, Altroz

Tata Motors Reports 11% Year-on-Year Decline in May 2025 Sales

Tata Motors recorded total sales of 41,557 units in May 2025, reflecting an 11% decrease compared to 46,700 units sold in May 2024. This decline is attributed to various factors, including geopolitical tensions and adverse weather conditions.

Industry-Wide Slowdown

The Indian passenger vehicle market experienced a downturn in May 2025, with overall sales declining by 1.1% month-on-month (MoM) and showing a marginal 0.2% year-on-year (YoY) growth. Notably, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire sedan surpassed the Hyundai Creta to become the best-selling car in India during this period.

Tata Motors’ Performance

Tata Motors maintained its position as the fourth-largest automaker in India, with a market share of 11.9%. However, the company faced challenges, including an 8% MoM decline from 45,199 units sold in April 2025.
