FASTag Annual Pass fee increased to Rs 3,075 from April 1

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has revised the price of the FASTag Annual Pass, increasing it from Rs 3,000 to Rs 3,075. The new price will come into effect from April 1, 2026, and will apply to non-commercial vehicles with a valid FASTag using national highways and expressways across the country.

The annual pass is designed to make highway travel easier for private vehicle owners. With a one-time payment, users can pass through toll plazas without making separate payments for every journey. According to NHAI, the pass can be used at around 1,150 toll plazas located on national highways and expressways in India.

The FASTag Annual Pass was introduced on August 15, 2025. It allows non-commercial vehicle owners to pay a fixed amount and use highways without worrying about frequent toll payments. The pass remains valid for one year or for 200 toll plaza crossings, whichever comes first.

For many drivers, this option can be convenient compared to paying toll charges on every trip. Most toll plazas in India charge at least around Rs 70, while some toll fees can go above Rs 200 depending on the highway and location. Because of this, regular highway users may find the annual pass useful for managing their travel expenses.

Since its launch, the FASTag Annual Pass has seen strong demand. NHAI has stated that more than 56 lakh users have already purchased the pass.

Private vehicle owners who want to buy or renew the pass can do so online. It is available through the NHAI website and the Rajmarg Yatra mobile app, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Users do not need to purchase a new FASTag, as the annual pass can be activated on an existing tag after the vehicle and FASTag details are verified.

Vehicle owners must also follow the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The FASTag should be placed correctly on the vehicle’s windshield and must be linked to a valid Vehicle Registration Number. The tag is non-transferable and can only be used for the vehicle on which it is registered. Using it on another vehicle may lead to deactivation.
