Hero Vida Electric Scooter Sales Cross 1 Lakh Units in CY25

Hero MotoCorp’s electric arm has achieved a major breakthrough this year, as Hero Vida electric scooter sales have crossed 1 lakh units in CY25. This is the first time the brand has touched this number in a single calendar year since entering the electric scooter market in 2022. As per Vahan data till December 5, Vida has already crossed the one-lakh mark in domestic sales.

The year started slowly with only 1,626 units sold in January 2025. But the momentum picked up from February onwards, with monthly numbers gradually rising into the 6,000–8,000 range. The first big jump came in July, when Vida crossed the 10,000 monthly sales milestone for the first time.

The festive season gave an even bigger push. In October 2025, Vida posted its highest-ever monthly sales at over 16,000 units, making it one of the strongest-performing EV brands during the period. From being the seventh-ranked electric scooter maker in January, Vida climbed to the fourth position by November, even overtaking Ola Electric in monthly sales.

The biggest contributor to this growth is the Hero Vida VX2, launched in July 2025. It quickly became a top choice for budget EV buyers, thanks to its aggressive pricing. The VX2 starts at Rs 59,490 (ex-showroom) with the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, while the standard battery version is priced at Rs 99,490.

The scooter comes in two variants—Go and Plus. The Go variant uses a 2.2 kWh battery offering 92 km of range, while the Plus gets a 3.4 kWh battery with a 142 km range. Hero recently extended the 3.4 kWh battery pack to the Go trim too, priced at Rs 1.02 lakh without BaaS and Rs 60,000 with BaaS.

While the premium Vida V2 remains a smaller player due to higher pricing, the VX2 has clearly become the star of Hero’s EV lineup, helping the company secure its strongest year yet in the electric scooter market in India.
