Vespa has a long history of creating special edition versions of its premium 946 scooter, often inspired by the Chinese Zodiac. With 2026 marking the Year of the Horse, the Italian brand has revealed the Vespa 946 Horse edition, continuing this tradition with a design-focused and limited-run model.
The Vespa 946 Horse edition features a bay colour finish, a deep brown shade that Vespa says reflects the glossy coat of a horse. The steel bodywork, a trademark of the 946 range, uses a mix of gloss and matte finishes, giving the scooter a classy and handcrafted appearance. Small design details across the body panels help set this edition apart from the standard model.
A major highlight is the seat, which is finished in premium leather and inspired by equestrian saddles. A V monogram placed within a horseshoe design sits neatly below the seat, tying in with the Horse theme. The handlebar grips and rear-view mirrors also get leather trims, adding to the overall premium feel.
Vespa is offering a few optional accessories with this edition. These include a leather rear bag that matches the seat, a lightly smoked windscreen, and a colour-matched three-quarter helmet featuring a gold Vespa logo. As with earlier Lunar Collection models, the 946 Horse edition will be produced in limited numbers, although the exact production figure has not been revealed. Bookings are open through Vespa’s official website and authorised dealerships.
