Hyundai Creta EV to Be Unveiled at Auto Expo 2025: What We Expect

Hyundai is going to reveal the electric version of its popular Creta SUV at the Bharat Mobility Expo on 17 January 2025. This new model will compete with other electric cars in India, such as the Tata Curvv.ev, MG ZS EV, and upcoming electric models from Maruti Suzuki and Toyota.

Exterior Design

Spy photos show that the Creta EV will have similar size and shape to the regular petrol-powered Creta. The design will be quite similar to the petrol version, but with some changes. These may include a closed-off grille, EV badges, and aerodynamically improved alloy wheels to help the car move more smoothly through the air.

Interior Features

Inside, the Creta EV is expected to share a similar dashboard with both the Creta and Alcazar models. However, there will be some updates for the electric version. These include:

  • A new three-spoke steering wheel.
  • A new screen setup for both the infotainment system and the driver’s display.
  • Features like dual-zone automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone charging, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and a 360-degree camera system for better safety.

Powertrain and Battery

The Creta EV will likely come with a 45 kWh battery that powers an electric motor at the front of the car. While exact details are not yet available, the powertrain is expected to be similar to the one in the new Kona EV.

Conclusion

With the launch of the Creta EV, Hyundai shows its commitment to growing its electric vehicle range in India. As more carmakers bring out electric models, Indian buyers will have many more options to choose from when it comes to eco-friendly vehicles.
