Upgrading From a Commuter Bike? Here Are the Best Options Under ₹2.5 Lakh for Daily Riding, Touring & Comfort

I bought a Bajaj Pulsar 150 a couple of years ago as a beginner bike and now I’m looking for something more powerful and premium. My budget is around ₹2.5 lakh (can stretch slightly). I ride around 20–25 km daily in city traffic and need good mileage, comfortable seating for a pillion, low maintenance, and occasional touring capability. I also like the Hero Mavrick 440, but I’m unsure if it’s practical for Bengaluru’s traffic and rough roads. Please suggest suitable bikes.

CarBikeGPT Says: Based on your requirements — fuel efficiency, comfort, reliability, and manageable power — the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 or Yamaha MT-03 makes the most sense. These bikes offer:

  • Strong mid-range performance

  • Comfortable riding posture

  • Smooth engines perfect for daily commuting

  • Good mileage for the segment

  • Low maintenance and reliable spare network

They're agile in Bengaluru traffic and still capable enough for highway rides or weekend touring
