MG Majestor Spotted Testing Once More, India Launch Around the Corner

MG Majestor India Launch Likely in H2 2025; Spotted Testing Again

MG Motor India is gearing up to launch the Majestor, a premium full-size SUV, in the second half of 2025. Positioned above the MG Gloster, the Majestor aims to offer a more upmarket and feature-rich experience, and will serve as a refreshed, high-spec variant much like how the Fortuner Legender builds upon the standard Fortuner.

The SUV was showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in New Delhi, where JSW MG Motor unveiled a range of vehicles. While some models demonstrated global innovation, the Majestor, M9 premium MPV, and the Cyberster electric sportscar were clearly focused on the Indian market.

The Majestor is based on the Maxus D90, a large SUV already on sale in select international markets. Though it will be sold alongside the Gloster in India, it comes with a more premium design and enhanced features. Spy shots have revealed several exterior upgrades including:

  • A bold, blacked-out front grille
  • Sleeker LED daytime running lights
  • Vertically stacked LED headlamps
  • Redesigned LED tail-lamps
  • Sporty twin-spoke alloy wheels
  • Dual exhaust tips
  • Enhanced front and rear skid plates

Under the hood, the Majestor will borrow the 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine from the Gloster, delivering 213 bhp and 478 Nm of torque. It will be paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, and a 4WD system is expected to be offered as an option.

Inside the cabin, the Majestor will pack a host of premium features such as:

  • A 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system
  • Ventilated and massage-enabled powered front seats
  • Automatic climate control
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems)
  • 360-degree camera
  • Multiple airbags and more

With its launch, the MG Majestor will take on the likes of the Toyota Fortuner Legender and Isuzu MU-X in the premium SUV space.

Additionally, MG’s upcoming M9 electric MPV and the Cyberster convertible EV will be retailed through the brand’s luxury-oriented ‘MG Select’ showrooms across India.
