Next-Gen Hyundai Venue Spotted Testing – Fresh Design and New Features Revealed

Next-Gen Hyundai Venue Spotted Testing – Fresh Design, More Features Incoming

Hyundai is gearing up to give its popular compact SUV, the Venue, a significant makeover. Launched in 2019, the Venue has become a strong contender in the competitive sub-4m SUV segment, with cumulative sales surpassing 6 lakh units as of November 2024. Currently, it holds a market share of around 9% in the B-segment SUV space. After receiving a facelift in 2022, the Venue is now set to enter its second generation, internally codenamed QU2i. The launch is likely to happen during the festive season in October 2025, and testing is already underway.

Design & Exterior Updates

Spy shots from South Korea reveal that the next-gen Venue will adopt a boxier silhouette with sharper body lines. At the front, expect a fresh grille design, redesigned LED headlamps and DRLs, and a radar module, suggesting the inclusion of Level-2 ADAS features. Front parking sensors are also likely.

The side profile gets a makeover with thicker body cladding, sportier dual-tone alloy wheels, and revised roof rails. Dual-tone ORVMs and a DCT badge on the fender further enhance the SUV’s sporty character. A more horizontal beltline replaces the upward sweep of the current model, giving the Venue a broader stance.

In a notable safety upgrade, the new Venue will feature disc brakes on all four wheels, a feature previously exclusive to the Venue N Line. Rear design changes include a new bumper and tail-lamp setup, although camouflage hides finer details for now.

Interior and Feature Enhancements

Inside, the 2025 Hyundai Venue is expected to receive a major overhaul. Updates could include a new dashboard layout, refreshed centre console, ambient lighting, and premium upholstery. Hyundai may also borrow several creature comforts from the updated Creta and Alcazar, such as:

  • Ventilated front seats
  • Larger infotainment and instrument cluster screens
  • Panoramic sunroof

The ADAS suite is likely to expand with features like:

  • Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Lane Keeping Assist
  • Forward Collision Warning
  • Driver Attention Warning
  • Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go

Powertrain Options to Continue

Despite growing uncertainty over diesel engines in India, Hyundai is expected to retain its current engine lineup for the new Venue:

  • 1.2L MPi Petrol: 83 PS & 113.8 Nm, mated to a 5-speed manual
  • 1.0L Turbo Petrol: 120 PS & 172 Nm, available with 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT
  • 1.5L Diesel (CRDi VGT): 116 PS & 250 Nm, offered with a 6-speed manual

These proven powertrains will help Hyundai maintain performance versatility across the Venue range.

Expected Pricing & Rivals

With all the design and feature upgrades, the next-gen Venue will likely come with a slight price hike over the current starting price of ₹7.94 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will continue to compete with top rivals like the Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO, and the upcoming Skoda Kylaq.
