Maruti Suzuki PV Sales in January 2025: Strong Growth Despite Mini Segment Decline
In January 2025, Maruti Suzuki’s passenger vehicle sales saw mixed results across different segments. The mini segment, which includes models like Alto and S-Presso, faced a decline in sales. It sold 14,247 units, down from 15,849 units in January 2024. Year-to-date (YTD) sales also dropped to 1,03,889 units compared to 1,15,483 units during the same month last year.
In contrast, the compact segment, which includes the Baleno, Celerio, and Dzire, performed well. Sales increased from 76,533 units in January 2024 to 82,241 units in January 2025. However, YTD sales for this segment fell to 6,30,889 units from 6,86,544 units in the previous fiscal year. The combined sales of the mini and compact segments totaled 96,488 units, showing a slight YoY increase from 92,382 units, while YTD sales decreased to 7,34,778 units.
The Maruti Ciaz saw strong growth in January, with sales rising to 768 units compared to 363 units in January 2024. However, its YTD sales dropped significantly to 6,629 units in FY2024-25, down from 9,266 units in the same period last year.
Utility Vehicles Lead Sales Growth
Utility vehicles saw the highest demand in January 2025, with 65,093 units sold, up from 62,038 units in January 2024. YTD sales in this segment also improved, reaching 5,94,056 units compared to 5,22,626 units last year. The Maruti Eeco sold 11,250 units, slightly down from 12,019 units in January 2024, but YTD sales rose to 1,13,770 units, compared to 1,12,973 units in FY2023-24.
Overall, Maruti Suzuki’s total passenger vehicle sales for January 2025 reached 1,73,599 units, with YTD sales climbing to 14,49,233 units, marking strong growth. There was also significant month-over-month (MoM) growth compared to 1,30,117 units sold in December 2024.
Maruti Suzuki CV Sales in January 2025
In the commercial vehicle (CV) segment, Maruti’s Super Carry, its only offering in this category, saw sales grow to 4,089 units in January 2025, up from 3,412 units in January 2024. YTD sales also increased to 29,391 units from 27,025 units in the previous year.
Total Domestic and Export Sales
Maruti Suzuki’s combined sales of passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles (LCVs) reached 1,77,688 units in January 2025, a solid YoY increase from 1,70,214 units in January 2024. Additionally, Maruti’s re-badged vehicles, sold to other OEMs, increased to 7,463 units in January 2025, compared to 5,229 units last year. YTD sales for re-badged vehicles saw a significant rise to 88,662 units, up from 48,491 units in the previous year.
Exports also grew substantially in January 2025, with 27,100 units shipped, compared to 23,921 units in January 2024. YTD exports increased to 2,74,596 units from 2,28,248 units during the same period last year. Overall, total domestic and export sales combined reached 2,12,251 units in January 2025, a rise from 1,99,364 units in January 2024. YTD total sales increased to 18,41,882 units, up from 17,50,656 units in the same period of the previous year.
Maruti Suzuki’s strong performance in both domestic and international markets in January 2025 reflects its continued growth, driven by demand for its utility vehicles and increasing export volumes.
