9th-Gen Toyota Camry Launched in India, Price Starts at Rs 48 Lakhs

The all-new ninth-generation Toyota Camry has been launched in India, priced at Rs 48 lakh (ex-showroom). This premium sedan, which was first introduced internationally over a year ago, continues to feature its eco-friendly petrol-hybrid engine, one of its key highlights. Toyota has announced that deliveries will begin right away.

Built on the TNGA-K platform, the new Camry has a fresh, eye-catching design. The front of the car features Toyota’s “hammerhead” styling with a sharp nose, slim LED headlights, and daytime running lights. A narrow grille connects the headlights, and the ‘T’ logo is positioned higher than before. The car also has Lexus-inspired bumpers, a bold character line along the side, new 18-inch alloy wheels, and C-shaped LED tail-lights.

The Camry is available in six colors: Precious Metal, Dark Blue, Cement Grey, Emotional Red, Attitude Black, and Platinum White Pearl.

Inside, the Camry impresses with a new dashboard that includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen for infotainment. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and comes with a nine-speaker JBL sound system, a 10-inch head-up display, and digital key functionality.

The rear seats can recline using a center console. The front seats are ventilated and can be adjusted in 10 different ways. The car also features three-zone automatic climate control and a sunroof with a retractable sunshade.

Toyota’s Safety Sense 3.0, which includes driver assistance features like pre-collision assist with pedestrian detection, lane-tracing assist, radar-based cruise control, road-sign assist, and automatic high beams for better night driving, comes as standard. The Camry also has nine airbags, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera.

Under the hood, the Camry is powered by a 2.5-litre petrol engine paired with Toyota’s fifth-generation Hybrid System (THS 5). This combination produces 230 bhp, which is 12 hp more than the previous model. Fuel efficiency is improved, with an ARAI-rated figure of 25.49 kmpl. Like other Toyota hybrids, the Camry uses an eCVT gearbox.
